Our new album is called CLOWNS & ANGELS. The first single, “Das Model”, dropped on November 1, 2024, on all streaming platforms – Spotify, Apple Music, you name it.

The second single, “Fahnen und Parolen”, is out now as of December 6. The full album will be released on February 7, 2025, just before our tour kicks off. Oh, and we’ll have a CD available exclusively at our concerts – so come see us live, and maybe we’ll even sign it for you!

After playing our 9.000 NÄCHTE encore tour in February, we aranged and played the THREE PENNY OPERA by Brecht/Weill with inmates of the Berlin prison at Tegel (the prison ensemble sang and acted, we played). This summer we are in the studio, recording a new album, due out early next year. A tour will follow in Febuary 2025. All dates HERE.

In our time we’ve played with anything between 3 and 23 people on stage. Currently we are 10. What the name is about: a lot of people doing something together in a free spirit.

Max Manila is a fictional character, representing us as a group with collecting societies such as GEMA, ASCAP, PRS, etc. We pool the income, and distribute it among everybody involved, using a system of community system of “points”. To confuse everybody even more, we also publish the individual writers.

We started in 1995 to hang out on Mondays, casually playing together. Then one thing led to another …

Over what now are almost 30 years, we’ve played about 3000 gigs in 27 countries, including: Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungaria, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Mexico, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Russia, Spain, the US and Wales.

We wanted to try and find out, if we could expand the boundaries of how we listen. So we invented a special music app, that is an imersive way to experience music. The easiest way to explain is to check it out!

We listen, we do a lot of research, we write, try things, experiment, and stay commited… some songs are inspired by traditional music, most we write ourselves. We have a very broad background ranging from groovy rock, classical music, anglo-american pop, traditional folk, jazz, and French Chanson.
