It was time for a proper studio album, so in 2004 we spent a few weeks almost living in one. We started off recording live (“Frau von Ungefähr”), and later learned to dub instruments to live backing tracks, such as the beautiful “Valser nel bosco”, and the somewhat ska-esk “Cube”. We also found time to do a cover of “Saint behind the glass” by Los Lobos. The press said: “Musically, there´s everything in it which they could possibly get their hands on. They whirl you through Romanian Sirba, clarinets race through Klezmer melodies, a Cajun song is performed in a very strange local German dialect. Rules are turned around and over, the outcome being wonderful, rather strange music, which for the first time is not only orchestral, but also sung. The entire album is a warming highlight…“
